The U.S. Navy is no longer the largest navy in the world as it has been displaced by China’s People’s Liberation Army Navy that has nearly three times as many ships (of various capacities) and is adding to their navy at a greater rate than the U.S. This two-part paper explores the issue and breaks it down along the lines of the economic factors of production and if the ship building gap can be addressed.
